Keeping your GP informed

With your consent I would like to write to your GP to advise them about any proposed surgery. It is always best to work with your GP who has a greater insight into your background and may be aware of underlying medical problems that can have an impact on any proposed surgery.

Some patients however may prefer that their GP is not informed, particularly if they live in a small community or know someone who works at the surgery. We will ask you whether you would be happy for us to write to your GP but if you would rather we did not we will of course respect your request for confidentiality.
