Breast uplift (Mastopexy)

Implications of Mastopexy

There will inevitably be scars on the breast following a mastopexy. As the nipple has been moved there is a significant risk of the nipple losing feeling as a consequence of surgery. If loss of feeling in the nipple is something that as a patient you would find unacceptable you should not have a mastopexy. Where feeling is preserved this is a bonus.

Immediately following surgery the breasts will be firm and pert but as swelling reduces softening will occur and the breasts will drop modestly into their long term position. This may leave some loss of fullness in the upper part of the breast which can only realistically be avoided with an implant.
