Nipple reconstruction
Many patients prefer a more permanent solution reconstructing the nipple from their own tissue. The reconstructed nipple rarely looks as good as the natural nipple particularly where the nipple is large. As time passes the reconstructed nipple does tend to shrink but it is permanent and does not require particular care.
The nipple is reconstructed using a three tongued flap of tissue raised at the site of the required nipple. The darker area of the skin surrounding the nipple is then tattooed approximately three months later.
